FT6 upgrade, good support

I upgraded to Forex Tester 6 from an older version last month. The process was straightforward, I just followed the instructions on their site. I also added the Standard Data Feed at the same time. Good for backtesting, minor issues

I purchased Forex Tester 6 a few weeks ago for backtesting. It's a pretty powerful tool for simulating trades and testing strategies, much better than just using MetaTrader for that. The setup was easy enough. I got the Basic Data Feed with it, which is decent. My only minor gripe was that some of the older historical data, specifically for less common pairs, wasn't as readily available or had small gaps, which was a bit annoying when I tried to go really far back. Overall, it's a good investment for improving trading skills, but the data coverage could be more comprehensive for all assets.

anyone know if the historical data you get with it is any good? or do i have to pay extra for decent data feeds?

It comes with some basic data, but if you want really detailed stuff, especially tick data or specific pairs, you'll probably want one of their paid data feeds. The basic one is okay to start though.

The standard data feed is pretty solid. I used the basic for a bit and it was fine, but upgraded for more accuracy in my backtesting.

Forex Tester is really focused on forex backtesting, so it's super good for that. NinjaTrader is more broad, but FT's simulation is top-tier for historical forex data. Depends on what you're primarily trading.

I used NinjaTrader for a while, and while it's good, I found Forex Tester's dedicated tools for strategy testing and visual mode to be a lot more intuitive for forex specifically. Plus, the prop firm simulator is a huge plus if you're going that route.
